That's a bugger. I was going to suggest you crank up a phpinfo() just to confirm self-assessed memory - but that was because I'd never seen a GB worth of memory set aside for php (I used to get nervous if I bumped it over the 64MB mark!)
It's well short of the 2GB limit that most people associate with 32bit systems, but I know that even in those cases (thinking GNU/Linux here) it tends to split that down the middle for data anyway - and I was about to get paranoid that it was silently 'correcting' the 1GB statement back to some internal default.
Oh well, chalk it up to the Fun of working with other people, eh?
