Hello, i know this question discussted many times, BUT, let us know what we need to think? So, a few questions:
1. Will you implement UTF-8 support?
2. Please, tell about new feauters of bugfixes!
3. And the main question - WHEN?

The version of CodeIgniter that ExpressionEngine 2 is running on (some alpha/beta 2.0 thingy) has support for UTF-8 - so I'm sure it's coming shortly!

There's going to be a very cool new abstracted JavaScript library, tons of security enhancements and new utility Libraries, UTF-8 support and more.

If you want to check out some of the cool new stuff, go buy a copy of ExpressionEngine 2 and try it out for yourself.

I reckon within the next few month there will be a release, but you'll hear some official news from EllisLab in December (I read that somewhere, can't remember where).

Don't know where you read that either. The only comment I've seen was [url="/forums/viewthread/129316/P30/#652772"]this thread[/url], where Derek indicated that the release date for EE2 would be announced at the end of October of this year.

In my experience, nothing happens in December, and you usually expect a similar amount of activity in January.

Given the announcement of the release date still appears to be pending, it doesn't bode well for the release date proper.


EDIT Oh, [url="http://expressionengine.com/blog/"]here[/url] it looks like a launch was delayed by a day or two, but I think this is just the beta. The [url="http://expressionengine.com/ee2_faq"]EE2 FAQ[/url] doesn't indicate when EE 2.1 (the public non-beta release of EE 2.x AFAICT) will be released.

Considering that the version of CI from EE preview is 2.0 we could expect a release somewhere after EE is declared final
