Are overrides allowed for that directory? In other words, is your .htaccess file even loading?

@Colin Williams :: How do i know if htaccess file is loadind or not ?? @GUN :: i did restart apache still same problem not able to access page without index.php..........

You can put some bad code in there and if you get a 500 error, it's loading. But, you should really know where your apache settings are. No use in developing on your server blindfolded.

try this in .htaccess..........!!! Options -Indexes Options +FollowSymLinks ErrorDocument 404 /index.php DirectoryIndex index.php <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$1 [L] </IfModule>

Just put some random code in your .htaccess file and if it generates a 500 error, then you know your .htaccess file is loading.

---- continued from above ---- Code: LoadModule auth_basic_module modules/mod_auth_basic.so |
