jquery/javascript validator?

CodeIgniter comes with a php validator class and it works like a charm.

but often (if not always) you want a front-end validator too that works in harmony with the php validator.

im new to CodeIgniter, is there a such jquery validator (as plugin etc)?

and how do you search for extensions on the wiki? do you have to look up all pages? cause there are a lot of them.

would be great if there was a good platform for sharing plugins. there are a lot of OS platforms for this i guess?

I like to use the Ketchup JQuery plugin

but that's just for frontend. how do i know the front-end and the codeigniter validation class match seamlessly.

isnt there a package (jquery + php) for both sides?
