Commercial CodeIgniter-powered Project?
#1

Hey everyone!

I've been working with CodeIgniter for a few months now and it's proven to be a valuable framework for any kind of web-development.

I've developed a web-based SQLite editor for specific needs for myself with CodeIgniter and now I'm planning on extending that said editor in to a commercial product (downloadable source code) and have been baffled about the commercial-part of this.

Does CodeIgniter allow commercial projects?

If it does, I could always include a "powered by CodeIgniter" on all the pages, but the source would really only be available to customers who purchase it.

Worst case scenario would be that I'd need to get rid of CodeIgniter and start from scratch.

Anyway, thanks in advance!

The license agreement says:

6. Products derived from the Software may not be called "CodeIgniter", nor may "CodeIgniter" appear in their name, without prior written permission from EllisLab, Inc.

"Any purpose" includes "commercial use", so I don't see a problem.
