Similar indeed. But in all honesty, I can't see PDF Forge being a direct competitor to Codeigniter or EllisLab. So any similarities are just similarities and aren't doing any harm.

Hey, jayrulez...

pdfforge is sssooo much more recent then CI... The comment you posted, therefore, cannot be true.

They "almost copied" the logo. Not the other way around.

You should have read your own signature.







I really taught that mentionning this would help CI protect their interests... As I know Derek Allard is member of the team and he's used to see his stuff copied around... I taught I'd mention it.

Chill out man, harmless fun. Besides, what I said is true. If A is similar to B, that also mean B is similar to A no? I never mentioned which one came first. Will you say that every logo that has a flame in it is a copy of codeigniter's? I don't think any of this really matters. Codeigniter and whatever that other one is are to different products so no competition, lawsuit or any action at all is warranted.

The Mike Row Soft and Microsoft comparison nulls itself. Microsoft isn't an open source company, period. In the open source world, trademarks and copyright isn't as tight or strict. If perhaps Pdfforge had taken Codeigniter and the modified it under the guise of a new project without the original licence in-tact, then that would be a different story.

It does look strikingly similar. Almost like they took the original (CI) logo and pulled the top out a bit with a liquify tool and changed the hue.

the same logo image it's all over.
