codeigniter and jquery

I have just started to get my head around jquery and know that it is going to play a big part in my future applications, but I am stuck on one concept when using it with codeigniter.

In one of my views I have a 3 tables of data. one of the tables shows meeting minutes and I want the user to be able to add a new meeting minute and for the table to be updated by jquery to display the new minute.

How do I get the table and the foreach each loop that builds it to be refreshed to show the new minute?
