Referring the User guide & Forum threads, i understand that in CI, any open mysql connection(s) would close, with persistent or non- persistent connections before exit.
But does the community feel that non-persistent connections would create any performance issues during heavy load web application? Any additional handling in the code to be done while using non persistent connection?
Note: We recently faced some issues with persistent connection and found couple of forum threads telling them to turn off, so now before we put it off, we want to make sure if its safe and what does forum have to say on the same?
