Pagination problem

When creating the pagination for my listing, the first page stays highlighted all the time even if i click on the 2nd or 3rd page. Although when i click on 2nd or 3rd page, the listing gets updated accordingly, but the pagination numbering does not reflect that change, it stays highlighted/bold on page 1 in the numbering.

What is causing this? Am i missing something?

Thanks.. i got it sorted now, was a fault in the base_url config setting.
