session in IE7

I have a simple login script which creates a session with a value "logged_in".

When I run the code in FF it works.

When I run it in IE7 I can log in but when I click on a link and it checks again for the "logged_in" I get sent back to the login page. Which is what is meant to happen if the session doesn't exist?

Any ideas why it doesn't work in IE7?
