CIBonFire for 3.0?
#11

https://github.com/mwhitneysdsu is my GitHub account; my name is Mat Whitney, hence my user name here and there. I also post in the Bonfire forums under the name Vizeroth, due primarily to which social media accounts work with that forum. I usually don't check either forum on weekends, and whether I do during the week depends on how busy I am. When I have time, I usually check GitHub first, the Bonfire forums second, and here third. I usually don't respond to email or private messages from people I don't already know, because it can be difficult to tell the difference between spam and a legitimate request, and it would generally be more helpful to the community as a whole to ask the question on a forum and have it answered there, where someone might find it in the future (plus someone else might answer it before I have a chance to do so, and some of the email addresses I use are not checked frequently or thoroughly).

So, all of that aside, Bonfire works with CI3 in the current release (0.8.1), and I am maintaining a separate branch (0.7.x) for CI2 until October. The 0.7.x and 0.8.x branches can work with either version 2 or 3 of CodeIgniter, and instructions for changing the CI version are included in the documentation, though I would recommend sticking with 0.7.x for CI2 or 0.8.x for CI3.

- Documentation for getting CI3 working in 0.7.x: https://github.com/ci-bonfire/Bonfire/bl...ocs/ci3.md
- Documentation for getting CI2 working in 0.8.x: https://github.com/ci-bonfire/Bonfire/bl...ocs/ci2.md

Once your site is up and running, the docs for Bonfire should be available by visiting http://localhost/docs (assuming that your site is accessible via http://localhost). Alternatively, you should use the docs on GitHub: https://github.com/ci-bonfire/Bonfire/tr...nfire/docs

The website is due for an overhaul soon, but the link on the website to download Bonfire should give you the latest zip from the master branch, which should always be the latest release (currently v0.8.1). I usually keep the develop branch as stable as I can, and it will contain the most recent bug fixes, so it may be worth looking at if you run into any issues with 0.8.1.

kilishan is the original/lead developer of Bonfire, and his answer about the error on your site is correct.
