The student years dramatically change a young person's life, especially when a young man or woman goes to study in another city and lives in an apartment or in a dormitory. Student life is filled with new events, lectures, exams, acquaintances - who will think about such "nonsense" as proper nutrition! But the first thing to organize at this stage of your life is a healthy and proper diet.

The scientists of the University of Leeds have developed a peculiar guide in nutrition for new students in order to teach young people not to lead their bodies to painful symptoms, as it often happens in the early years of student life: from excessive fatigue to constipation and, in many cases - even to obesity. A proper and balanced diet is the main component of a healthy lifestyle.

Forget about fast food. Most students fall into the trap of cheap menus, buying food at the nearest fast-food establishments, which, in the end, ends very sadly: among the many health problems there is increased fatigue and weight gain. Fast food products do not have valuable nutrients and, in addition, are a veritable bomb of calories, fats and sugar, very unhealthy for your heart.

Drink plenty of water. While being absorbed in lectures, practicals, parties, and maybe even part-time jobs, who among students would think of remembering that they need to drink at least 1.5 liters of water daily? Even if you are crazy about Coca-Cola and other carbonated drinks, you must learn once and for all that water is the most important drink that helps your body to function well. If you often feel weak, it's probably because you don't have enough liquid in your body, so when you leave home, have a bottle of plain water.

Eat fruit every day. Fresh fruit should not be absent from your diet! For example, bananas are a great source of potassium and vitamin B6, which are essential for good nervous system function, especially during very busy, stressful times in life. Apples are rich in fiber and vitamin C, and thus ensure good intestinal function, and forest berries, thanks to the antioxidants they contain, strengthen the immune system "for the five". Any fruit is great for a snack, and it is a much better solution than a bun and sausage bought at the nearest corner.
