i guess learners should'nt try ci?

time to uninstall
i tried, that's the main thing

thanks anyways
dood, seriously? not even half an hour and in the middle of the night no less (at least for me). Did you expect us to educate you on the basics of PHP?

Hint: there's this thing called google. A search for CodeIgniter tutorial will turn up several (hundred?) thousand results.

Another hint: Most forums appreciate those who try to help themselves before begging others to help them.

fuck you all
Hi and welcome to the forum. CI is indeed a good learning tool to make you use good design patterns without needing to know the theory behind them. Hence it will teach you a better way of setting up your project without falling into the many pitfalls beginning PHP programmers step into. So if you want to learn programming PHP, this is a very good starting point.

If you could explain in more detail what exactly is your problem, I'm sure someone can help you along. For now I would suggest following the blog tutorial or one of the many other tutorials available.
^ One appropriate response. It was a bad time to ask though (middle of the night for me as well).

If your looking to learn PHP search some of the tutorial sites like nettuts.com and you will find plenty of resources (articles, best practices, tutorials, etc) for getting started with PHP. There is also a 15 screencast set named "Diving into PHP" at http://blog.themeforest.net. If you already have the basic understand of PHP, then the next step would be getting a grasp on MVC (the architecture used by CodeIgniter). From CodeIgniter's Video section there are several tutorials to help you get started, there are several "CodeIgniter From Scatch" tutorials on nettuts.com, there are also some tutorials on codeigniterdirectory.com.

Hope this helps out some. If not feel free to shoot me a PM I can prob dig up a nice list of stuff for you to look through in my bookmarks. Don't give up so quickly next time. CI is a great tool, you'd be amazed to see how much time and work it can save you over using pure php.

Darn I sat here for a month just reading the users guide before I even asked a question, the users guide is your manual to using CodeIgniter.

From the way your talking you have given up before you even started. Let me say this I went to school for 6 months at night learning Cobal and left with high honers an A+ average.

And here is what my instructor said the first night ( If you can not follow instructions there is the door! )
7 people got up and walked out that door. and at the end of the class there was only 6 of us that made it out of 32 people.

So if you think you are going to learn something over night think again!

Enjoy
