Quote:FOR REAL? SO, I guess this is an EXCUSE.

All I am saying is this…this is a web development platform that proclaims to be easy to use, update, blah, blah, blah…and NO ONE IS LEADING BY EXAMPLE, but stating excuses?

For REAL?

oh, c'mon, matey! pick the sticky out from under your caps lock.

sure, the videos are out of date and should be removed from codeigniter.com but at the same time the documentation is truly excellent. plus, there is a supportive community on the forums, always willing to help out.

i suggest that you also take codeigniter in the same spirit; if there's something broken try and fix it or, better yet, submit a patch on bitbucket. if there's something you don't like propose an alternative.

What would a client of yours do if they asked you to update their website and you didn't?

There is no difference here. I have suggested just commenting that some portions of this video aren't applicable to the current version. So READ and they aren't stuck.

come on, it is 2011, code igniter became 2.0.2, and all we have are some outdated old tutorials.
please help all the developers who are not high end programmers to develop or they will switch to some zend or another shitty frameworks.
I do not get it - thousand of tutorials and blogposts all over the web, and everything is so outdated, even self codeigniter.com tutorials.
