I am not into Drupal but yes I am in Joomla and Ci is more powerful as a development tool but joomla is better for CMS/ web designing/ Modules etc. SO I deleoped a Extension and modified one (so total 2 extensions to install) to merge CI with joomla, now develop your extensions and modules for joomla in CI way..
