Problems moving site to another domain

Try adding the following script to index.php and make sure the line number and filename are showing.

Once this is working, move the script down until the blank screen appears again.

Perhaps also temporarily rename .htaccess file.

I added the lines right at the top of index.php and the result is still a blank page. Makes me think that the problem could lie on something fundamental.

Try adding a very simple index.html file and see if that works. If it does not render than the site is not set correctly.

Confirm that the server is set up to execute PHP files. Change the name of CodeIgniter's index.php temporarily. Then change the name of the index.html that worked to index.php - does it still now?

I'm guessing that there is a syntax error in the index.php file that has just been renamed.

I suggest you replace the existing CodeIgniter index.php with a fresh copy from the distribution download. Save a backup of the one being replaced so you can see what, if any, changes you need to make to the fresh new file.

This is why I suggested replacing the main index.php file with a new copy from source download.

Paste the recommended index.php source and do not change anything except remove the inserted <?php line

Error messages should appear stating invalid system and application paths.

Please supply the full index.php script so other users can test on their local computers.

No. Let me know the CI version and I will supply the complete contents of index.php when I am on my desktop, which should be in about an hour.

To find the CI version, search the Codeigniter system directory for CI_VERSION. Your editor should be able to search recursively  every sub-directory
